Welcome to 2012 VEGAN MOFO - Day 11. Uptons seitan

Welcome to MoFo Eleven!

Tonight, last of this season's
College Fairs
and repping my alma mater
RUTGERS UNIVERSITY,
home of the SCARLET KNIGHTS!

(yes, in an RU State of Mind)

Breaking my fast with
morning green smoothie
Apple, blueberries, celery, cucumber, dates, kale, parsley, watermelon

While dining on salad and pasta at last night's event,

having passed on the meat sauce and cheese,
the "protein deficiency" question arose.
Answered it by explaining plant based proteins, herbivorous animals, and exaggerated recommendations.
The sports-minded seemed surprised that someone
"over 50 and fabulous"
(C'est Moi!)
would know about VEGAN athletes, particularly
in the National Football League.
Duh?!?!!!
Another SHOUT OUT to the
HOUSTON TEXANS
on Monday night's win, and to our very own
VEGAN Running Back, #23
ARIAN FOSTER.
Great Game, Guy!

Conversation reminded me that I had
Upton's seitan
in the freezer.
Very tasty seitan,
convenient when you're not making your own,
and available in four styles/varieties,
Traditional, Ground Beef, Italian Sausage and Chorizo.

Added some to my late lunch/early dinner
for today's version of my
Hugh Jazz Salad
Romaine, avocado, beets, beet greens, carrots, chopped seitan, sundried tomatoes, E2 basics dressing

Plant based muscle building;
so easy and delicious.

 This week, in 1982,
Miss Diana Ross
reached #4 on the R&B charts,
#10 on Pop, with
MUSCLES
